- 1Eltz Manor & Vukovar Museum
Museum
The baroque Eltz Manor on the Vukovar riverfront was reduced to a shell in the 1991 siege and painstakingly rebuilt to house the Vukovar City Museum. Its permanent exhibitions cover 8,000 years of Danube archaeology — including the celebrated Vučedol Dove — plus a solemn 1991 memorial wing.

- 2Vukovar Water Tower
Monument
Riddled with more than 600 shell holes during the 1991 siege and deliberately left standing, Vukovar's water tower is Croatia's most powerful memorial to the Homeland War. A steel-and-glass staircase spirals up the scarred concrete shell to a viewing platform 50 metres above the Danube; a small museum at the base tells the story of the 87-day siege. Below the town, the Vučedol archaeological site adds 5,000 years of context.
