The green heart of Slavonia — a forested mountain range designated a UNESCO Global Geopark for its extraordinarily varied geology, some of the rocks 350 million years old. Beech and oak forests hide waterfalls, ruined medieval castles (Ružica, Kamengrad), and the beautiful Jankovac forest park with its cascading stream. Wolves and wildcats live in the deeper valleys.
