Hidden Gem
The Kupa river bursts, fully formed, from a 320-metre-deep karst spring at the foot of the Risnjak massif — a startling turquoise pool in the middle of an untouched valley. A 90-minute trail down through beech forest reaches the source, and the walk back up is the only serious effort of the day.
