Crikvenica is Kvarner's easy-going family resort — 8 km of connected seafront promenade linking the town with Selce and Dramalj, sandy and pebbled beaches, calm waters, and enough gelato stands to keep any child happy. The town grew from a 15th-century Pauline monastery whose cloister is still the atmospheric heart of the old centre. Boat trips head to the tiny island of Sveti Marko for very quiet swimming.
